2009  – a year of Discovery

2009 was a year of discovering so many things for us, for our friends and our family. I hope you all agree. We discovered :
• Who we are and where we came from
• Who we can live with and who can not live without
• We discovered how to beat illness and live on
• That perhaps what we wanted is not what we need

We discovered:
• Who our ancestors were, how they lived, loved and died
• We found that distance only separates us physically but not emotionally
• We discovered just how tough and resilient we are and that strength is a good thing
• We discovered how to reinvent ourselves one more time

We discovered:
• How to be a good supportive friend and that our friends are truly part of our family
• That our family is there for us and we are there for them
• We discovered that technology is a good thing and can and will bring people together
• How to reconnect with people we love

A year of Triumph and Sorrow :
• Beating liver cancer – Dad/Tony
• The passing of our nephew way to soon – Jimmy

Of all the things we discovered this year, 2009 will always be the year we found Paul and Inge and our cousins and family in Denmark – and for that we are truly blessed and thankful. Ida, Kes, Svend, Rasmus, Per, Heidi, Amanda and Mads, without Paul we would not know you and for that we thank Paul as we are so very pleased to be part of the ‘family’.

We discovered that it is exciting to learn about the past but it is far more exciting to live in the present, to explore the future and to get closer to those we love.
