Slains Castle, Cruden Bay, Peterhead, Scotland ~ featured in a series of books by Susanna Kearsley (which I truly enjoyed) so when I found the castle near Dornoch – it was a must see. Not to mention the golf course nearby to be exquisite

Doune Castle, Stirling, Scotland ~ featured as Castle Leoch and Winterfell in Outlander and GOT. I was besides myself being there.

Margam Castle , Margam Wales ~ through the morning haze was majestic. We went to the town of Margam as many of the Hughes were born here ( the town not the castle) so we toured the area and found this unreal place.

We take a one hour flight from Cardiff to Glasgow and pick up a rental car and head north.
A few days in the Scottish Highlands and maybe just maybe a trip to “the” standing stones. One can only hope.
